Pharmacy Technician II

Course description

This program provides an introduction to a range of pharmacy practice settings while building foundational knowledge in drug classifications, basic physiology, drug interactions, and daily pharmacy operations. Students will gain the skills needed to support pharmaceutical preparation and perform routine tasks in a pharmacy environment, with the understanding that continued learning occurs on the job. The course also prepares participants to sit for the national pharmacy technician certification exam.

Students will receive comprehensive instruction in pharmacy calculations, strengthening their math skills and developing an understanding of the calculations required in the field.

The program includes 180 hours of mixed classroom and asynchronous instruction, along with a required 120-hour externship to gain hands-on experience.

Program requirements: Applicants must be at least 18 years old and hold a high school diploma or GED.
