Medication Aide/Tech for CNAs

Course description

This vital training course empowers caregivers with the knowledge and skills to safely administer medications and support patient care within nursing home facilities.

You will Learn to

  • Understand medication classifications and their effects on the body
  • Administer medications under the supervision of a registered nurse
  • Follow written instructions from licensed healthcare professionals
  • Accurately document in a medication administration record

Course Schedule

  • December 2, 2025 to January 29, 2026
  • Mondays & Wednesdays, 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Currently employed as a licensed CNA in active status
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Proof of legal residency
  • Letter of recommendation from a registered nurse at your current employer
  • CNA license
  • Employment at a nursing home facility

This course is possible by the Office of the Postsecondary Commissioner, CCRI Division of Workforce Partnerships. This training is 100% funded by the U.S. Department of Labor through an award totaling $333,000.00.
