Coordinator of Operations
R.I. Office of the Postsecondary Commissioner/Westerly Education Center
Rhode Island Office of the Postsecondary Commissioner is accepting applications for a coordinator of operations for its higher education and workforce development center in Westerly. The coordinator of operations is responsible for oversight and program delivery of second-shift operations at the center building and the center annex building. Overall responsibility for health, safety, security, and environmental issues, including accident procedures, planning, and preparedness. Also responsible for oversight of scheduled programs.
Specific Duties
- Assist with the coordination of all center facilities and services, including the maintenance and upkeep of the interior and exterior, equipment and supplies of procurement, storage, and assignment.
- Assist with coordination of all programs and services within the center and center annex under the direction of the director.
- Assist with the coordination and scheduling of classes, events, and related activities including the scheduling of support staff.
- Serve as a liaison with higher education institutions, industry partners, and other entities utilizing space at the center during the evening hours.
- Contribute to a team that creates policies and guidelines for the efficient and sound management of the center with direction and oversight from the director.
- Serve as the main point of contact during evening operations for assistance in the delivery of workforce training, credit-bearing courses, test proctoring, and special events.
- Serve as a certified test proctor to support the delivery of online certification exams.
- Assist the director in the development of innovative programs.
- Track facility utilization and submit reports to the director.
- Operate building technology and effectively troubleshoot audio/visual and instructional tools.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required; master’s degree preferred. Relevant experience in lieu of education will be considered.
Experience: Minimum of two years of administrative and/or operations experience required. Work experience in higher education and/or workforce development preferred. A valid driver’s license is required. Must pass a criminal background check.

This is a full, non-standard (exempt) position with a salary range is $65,00-$75,000. The coordinator of operations reports to the director of Westerly Education Center.
